Personal Pianist  is the product of years of teaching experience and experimenting by two professional musicians, one a violinist, and the other a cellist. The program is a very simple, easy-to-use practicing tool for students and parents, with which you can rehearse many pieces of music with a piano accompaniment.  The main features of the software and available piano libraries are:

• 1)  The ability to change tempo, to allow students to find a speed which they can handle, and gradually increase the tempo as they improve;


• 2)  The inclusion of "rubato" or musical feeling in the Midi files, rather than a straight metronomic performance.  These tempo variations are scaled down and up, as well, when the user adjusts the overall speed for practicing purposes;


• 3)  You can start your piece at any particular bar to rehearse specific sections.   Simply click once on the backspace key, and try it again from the same place.  See improvement on difficult passages, quickly and efficiently.


• 4)  Printable PDF files, where available, of the solo part, linked to each piece with the click of a button.  Very convenient access to the sheet music;


• 5)  MP3 audio file of the piece being practiced, also at the click of a button - a great reference tool.

Together these elements will help the player develop steady rhythm as well as a sense for natural musicality.

This will include technical pages for students: scales, arpeggios, studies, as well as new libraries of piano accompaniments.  All can be loaded into the Personal Pianist software, to be accessed for practicing (audio) or printed out. The libraries that have been designed for use with Personal Pianist are filled with standard pieces and the most commonly taught repertoire for a wide variety of skill levels. Some of the libraries will also have an MP3 file "linked" to a piece, so with the click of a button the student is able to hear a professionally recorded version of the music, for reference.
